A work in progress...

Sarah over at Thrifty Decor Chick is hosting a spray paint party. It just so happens that I spent a little time over the weekend with spray can in hand.

For the last month, I have been working on a redesign of our master bedroom. I contacted Layla Palmer over at The Lettered Cottage awhile back for one of her virtual consultations and have been busy implementing her suggestions.

This past weekend, I was working on the windows. I took some 3/4 inch pvc pipe,(cut to size for me by 2 nice men at HD) 3 elbow joiner thingies, 5 coat hooks and some satin nickel spray paint...

to make myself a drapery rod to hold up my new chocolate brown panels...

I have 2 finials that I still need to add to each end. (that's them sitting on the window sill)

And since I loved the way the satin nickel finish turned out, I looked around to find something else I could add a little sparkle to and found these:

I have a few things left to do to finish the room and will be sharing the before/after pics as soon as I get it all pulled together.

WOW!!! That looks fantastic!! (I keep saying that!) Looks like expensive rods. I've thought about doing that in a spot too, now I might go ahead.

Holy cow! That looks awesome! While I love all the windows, it looks like a difficult job to do window treatments. Yours are gorgeous!

Hi, How did you attach the rods to the wall??? I'm needing this same thing for in my kitchen, its a bay and not your typical bay. It looks great!!

That is amazing!!! I would never have thought to use pvc pipe. Great job!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. For the board and batten in the bathroom, I bought little trim from Home Depot. It is about the size of a paint stirring stick. I think it was around 40 cents a foot. The board going across the top was the next size up. I think all together for the wood was under $80.00.

Good luck with your bathroom. If you decided to do it, I want to see pictures.

I think you just saved me a TON of money! I was getting really frustrated not being able to land a long enough curtain rod. Someone told me to use metal pipe but I was concerned about the cutting part. PVC, great idea!

Curious how the paint stands up to scuffing? I plan to use the rods with metal rings.

I can't wait to see how your room turns out. I am a huge fan of Layla's. :)

I've been toying with the idea of doing this to mine. Now that I've seen how great it looks, I'll have to do it too. Thanks!
